Vasant Utsav 2012 - Cultural Program Registration Form

This Page will guide you through the registration process. The registration requires names, age, phone no and e-mail of participants. Please start collecting this information as it will be helpful for fast registration.

PLEASE NOTE: Your registration will be considered incomplete if you do not provide ALL the requested information.

To accommodate as many acts as length of program allows, please note the following guiding principles:

1. Our goal is to include all requests to perform in at least one act.
2. Children can perform in no more than two acts. Balvihar Invocation will be the only exception to the two act rule. (e.g. Balvihar invocation + 2 Acts is ok)
3. Children are encouraged to perform, and as such, will be given priority for being in second acts over adults.
4. Adults will be allowed to perform in second acts only if we have not reached our limit in terms of total number of acts.
5. Dance or song items must be 5 minutes or less irrespective of the number of participants.
6. Time limits for skits/plays/special presentation must be discussed with Meenu Chhabra, Nishu_meenu@hotmail.com, 491-1329h, 342-2258c or Maithili Shankar maishank@yahoo.com, 209-8832 before registering.
7. The order of performances will start with the youngest children performing first, followed by the older children and then adults. The only exception is in the case of a finale act that may include both children and adults.
8. Within 24 hours of submitting your registration, you will receive a note that your registration form has been received. Contact Maithili Shankar maishank@yahoo.com, if you do not receive it.
9. If the program is selected and the registration is complete, choreographers will receive confirmations for their acts on Monday, February 13th.
10. Note: Any act registered without ALL the requested information is incomplete incomplete and cannot be confirmed. This includes also checking SignUp Genius registrations for your group (see below). Incomplete registrations will have to register again and as such your position in the registration process will change and will delay confirmation for your performance. Please provide all the requested information to avoid this.

New this year:

1. Vasant Utsav is completely volunteer driven. One member of each participant’s family will need to volunteer for the VU event (not towards the choreographer but towards the event).
2. Feb. 1-8 participant families can sign up on SignUp Genius.
3. Each choreographer needs to check with their group by Feb. 8 to see that each family has signed up. Registration is not complete unless each participant has a parent signed in on SignUp Genius.
4. Parents who do not sign up will be charged $40 as a condition of participation. (This will allow event coordinators to hire someone to do that job).
